We’re thrilled to announce that the COVID-19 Safety Video Series we produced for Duquesne University has been named Best Non-Broadcast Production in Safety in the 42nd Annual Telly Awards!

At Duquesne University, providing a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, and the community has always been a top priority. To encourage individuals to follow proper safety guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pixelab Studios produced a series of safety videos for Duquesne University outlining best practices for safety on campus and in the surrounding community. In this set of four videos, we discussed the importance of wearing a mask, social distancing and general hygiene reminders to protect against the virus and showcased Duquesne University’s safety pledge, daily health screening process and the importance of self-reporting. This safety video series was distributed via Duquesne University email campaigns, bulletins, the Duquesne U mobile app and displayed on media screens throughout campus for all faculty, staff and students to view.

It’s truly an honor to receive such a prestigious award from our video and television industry peers. We believe strongly in the power of video to inform, inspire and entertain. This is displayed in our COVID-19 Safety Video Series for Duquesne University. The goal was to encourage individuals to follow proper safety guidelines on campus and in the surrounding community in a fun and engaging way. It was an important goal that I believe was a factor in mitigating the spread of the virus. It made it possible for the university to return to a full on-campus learning environment and regular student life operations for the fall 2021 semester.

The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring video and television across all screens. Established in 1979, The Telly Awards receives over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents. The 42nd annual Telly Awards received a 15% increase in entries from the previous year. The growth was driven by a significant rise in remote and virtual productions, with many brands taking to animation for the first time. Entrants are judged by The Telly Awards Judging Council—an industry body of over 200 leading experts, including advertising agencies, production companies and major television networks, reflective of the multiscreen industry and includes executives from WarnerMedia, NBC News, Framestore NY and Vimeo to name a few.
